Sweet or Bitter?

In an interview on Sunday with Chris Wallace, Glenn Beck said:

“Let’s turn back to God and see how that works.”

My question to Glenn Beck is: Which God?

In an interview with Bill O’Reilly before the Washington “Restoring Honor” rally, Beck offered the following thoughts:

“Because honestly, right now, I mean, the one part of culture that I am doing a lot of is faith. But general faith. We have got to get back to our churches, our synagogues, our mosques, whatever it is, as long as it's not telling to you blow things up. Get back to God and get back to the Founding Fathers."

In 1816, John Jay, the first Chief Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court, stated his opinion on the matter:

"Providence has given to our people the choice of their rulers, and it is the duty, as well as the privilege and interest of our Christian nation to select and prefer Christians for their rulers."[1]

Jay’s words suggest a singular spiritual perspective, which left no room for a "general faith" and certainly not the faith of Joseph Smith.  Smith’s doctrine didn’t come into being until the late 1820’s. The fact that many Christians are willing to overlook Beck's faith and stand with him in his call for "revival," speaks to an out of focus allegiance to the temporal realm where politics inform faith as opposed to faith informing politics.

Personally, I like Glenn Beck’s television program—I wish that more Black folks watched him instead of that imbecile, Keith Olbermann.  If Beck were holding a symposium on American history, I’d be all over it—If he hold’s an anti-socialism rally sign me up. Nevertheless, when it comes to Glenn Beck calling for a spiritual revival, I slam on the brakes and yank on the emergency brake lever.

I would not attend a revival meeting held by Beck anymore than I would attend one headed up by Jeremiah Wright, Louis Farrakhan or the Dalai Lama, unless of course for the purpose of standing in the midst of those men to proclaim the true Gospel of Christ as understood by the Founding Fathers. Apart from sharing the true Gospel, I could not stand in agreement with any of them. Why? Because spiritually each one is equally dangerous.

It is revival we’re talking about...right?

“Can two walk together, except they be agreed?” Amos 3:3

“Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion hath light with darkness?” II Corinthians 6:14

Coming together in agreement with unbelievers can only result in causing confusion in the minds of the lost. If a person seeking truth sees “general faith” as an equally viable path to God, be it Mormonism, Islam, or any faith other than the Gospel of Christ, from a Biblical perspective that person is in trouble.

No, Glenn Beck calling for revival is far more troubling for me; I would have preferred Beck hosting a political rally. I can stand with him on small government and in opposition to Obama Care. We can agree on the evils of abortion; I am foursquare in favor of the defense of traditional marriage. However, this “general faith” thing—not so much. Liberation Theology is an abomination. But then, so is teaching that God was a man who attained godhood.

Christians are not to appear as having spiritual common ground with unbelievers. At all costs, believers in Christ should avoid that sort of confusing behavior, which is a serious issue for Christians to consider.

“Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?” James 3:11

The Lord said in the parable of the Ten Pounds "Occupy until I come" and America is a good place to hang out until Christ establishes His kingdom. The  “occupy” spirit undergirded the founding of this nation. The vast majority of the Founders recognized that the spiritual trumped the temporal. Therefore, the founders of our nation were wise enough to base American society on the immutable Word of the God of the Bible, not a hodgepodge culled from a generic god, “general faith,” derived from Islam, Mormonism, or the teachings of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh.

We may live in a pluralistic society today, but those immutable principles have remained just that.

Christians are admonished in II John that, as Christians, we are to walk only in truth. II John continues:

“Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.  If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.”

The premise of John’s words also refers to Christians partaking in “revivals”with people professing a different Gospel.

Beck does not stand for the Biblical doctrine of Christ, which is at wide variance with the teachings of the Latter Day Saints and Joseph Smith (who if he lived during Old Testament times, would have been stoned to death as a false prophet when his “prophecies” went unfulfilled). How then can Beck call for revival and how can Christians stand with Beck?

For those of you who would say I am sowing division, you are right! Because I believe my God when He says:

“Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. And a man's foes shall be they of his own household. He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.  And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me. He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.” Matthew 10:34-39

If you believe that man has an immortal soul and the idea that false religion can imperil it, I hope you would share your faith with as much enthusiasm as many of us muster up in debates with our liberal friends on the issues imperiling our nation.

I love God more than Glenn Beck or politics—and I love Glenn Beck so much that if I ever meet him, I will introduce him to my God and what He teaches about salvation and deliverance from dead works.

The Apoplectic Black Man!

While going through some of my older articles with an eye toward compiling a book, I found my second attempt at leaving a comment on a website called “The Grio,” subtitled: “Our lives...Our World...Our Stories.

I can’t remember what article drew such a visceral response from me.  But what I do know is the comment section was moderated and what I wrote never saw the light of day. Omitting comments speaks directly to liberal cowardice. Never once has a comment been omitted from my personal website, Digital Publius. I believe I have the courage of my convictions and the ability to defend my positions.

Omitting comments appears to be a standard operating procedure for a great many liberal blogs. Leftists love to troll conservative blogs and spew invectives, yelling “Hater!” -- But the same people are not as forthcoming in their own territory. If an argument, steeped in logic and evidential in nature is posted, generally it doesn’t make the cut. Liberals will, however, allow the stupid right winger who calls the President some derogatory epithet; because they can point their fingers and say; “you see, all right wingers are racists”.

Even if you believe that Obama was an Islamic jihadi spice merchant before becoming President, do us who prefer more cogent arguments a favor and keep it to yourselves. It's enough battling the fools on the left without having to explain the tedious fools on the right.

It's tragic a Black site proved to be so unwelcoming to a Black perspective that challenges the lock step opinion of their site. That being said, here is the rather fervent comment, with a few paragraphs added to make it more relevant, six months later:

Let’s try it again! Reading these comments makes me sad. My people are truly ill informed, brain washed, empty headed fools! It is no wonder we fail to progress, your thinking is so shallow and without wisdom and maturity.

You follow the same voices that lead you further and further down. You vote for the same lackwits who are the lackeys of the MOST VIRULENT racists this nation has ever produced. You don't even recognize they have you thinking you are incapable of doing things without their aid.

The white liberals you follow think of you as children. How can they consider you equals when they feel they have to advocate for you always, after more than a century and a half? How can you feel like an equal when they are constantly telling you that you need their help? Your pride is not even your own!

There have been God only knows how many Black men and Black women who have fought for this country beginning with the Revolutionary War and the death of Crispus Attucks. They did so because they believed in the dream of an ideal country, in the promise of this nation, even when they knew they themselves may never benefit directly.

They believed one day that promise would be true for all and it was worth their sacrifice. Yet you celebrate a culture that is intrinsically not even your own, You call this website “ The Grio”, if you have to define Grio  under your masthead for the people you attempt to serve, then it is not a part of your culture. You are in fact longing for a culture that you may or may not have descended from, but it is not YOUR culture. You can try to co-opt it, but it is still not yours.

Of course Black people have suffered horrible abuse in this country; we have born a million indignities and the most violent cruelty imaginable. Many people in this country have fought desperately to ensure that all do not receive the blessings of the promise America represents. But that does not make the promise unworthy or invalid.

When you vote and place your trust in the hands of the pig-ignorant fools who tirelessly work to "Change" those ideals and ideas to something other than what was established by the wise yet sometimes flawed founders of this nation, you spit in the eyes of all those Black patriots who gave their lives serving in the 1st Rhode Island Regiment, the 54th Massachusetts, the 9th, 10th, 24th, and 25th Cavalry, The Tuskegee Airmen.

You make their dream a foolish thing. Martin Luther King, Jr., said it himself, "I may not get there with you..." But he gave his life for that promise too. Your racist liberal masters have you thinking only the white man can apprehend that dream, so it is evil. We need to change the dream to some nebulous Marxist European simulacrum. A place where you are once again a slave, this time to a feudal state; leaching the soul out of the individual, as it provides for the serf who exists only to sustain it. Your liberal masters would have you serve an ever expanding and intrusive government.

When thinking people point out that government is overstepping its purposes--Liberals counter with “the government is the people”. They can say this with a straight face as the left leading our nation today disregards the will of the people at every turn.

You turn a blind eye when Obamacare passes despite opposition to the plan by (depending on the poll at least) 55% of Americans. Two states have already brought suits against Obamacare, with the Attorney Generals of 13 others waiting in the wings and even more with their fingers in the wind.

Are the people governing when 65- 70% of Americans approve of the Arizona Immigration measures? Yet your liberal government dispatches your Attorney General to spend the tax payers money in a frivolous lawsuit against a state's sovereign right to pass laws to protect it’s citizens. Only La Raza can dig up poll results in contradiction.

I have been Black all of my life, I thank God for the liberation one finds only in the hands of the Lord Jesus Christ. The only Granter of true liberty and no respecter of persons, or of race, Christ is the true issuer of the American promise, the inspiration of this nation.

As a Black man in America I have done everything I have ever wanted to do. I teach my children they will succeed based on their own energy and desire. And they can do it without sucking on the teat of some quasi-African village or liberal socialist collective.

If their ideas are good and they work hard, others will buy into their dream as well and they will thrive. Even some of you using the term "Uncle Tom" screams out the depth of your self hating stupidity, you don't even understand the role that book played in procuring your freedom.

It is my prayer you chumps wake up and recognize the only ones keeping you down are your victimhood selling liberal masters and yourselves, before it is ultimately too late.

Of Mosques and Men

Alinsky Bar Sinister

Without any semblance of doubt, Saul D. Alinsky is the most dangerous man our nation ever spawned. Actually, as the title of this article suggests, Saul Alinsky is not a son of this nation. Ideologically, Alinsky is the bastard son of European “intellectuals” whose fevered minds proved fertile ground for the truly demonically inspired ideas that came to be known as socialism.

This week I received my copy of “Rules for Radicals”, which Alinsky calls “A Pragmatic Primer for Realistic Radicals”. As a political system, socialism has proven to be anything but pragmatic, and the only reality it leads to is despair, hence the propensity to flee nations where socialism takes hold.

Saul Alinsky was quite mad. Tragically, the madness outlived him. More than anyone in America, living or dead, Saul Alinsky is responsible for the rabid, liberal, socialist plague our nation is suffering through at this moment in time.

Many have written about Alinsky’s influence on today’s liberal elite. Obama was bathed in the tub of Alinsky tactics and learned “community organizing” as a young radical in Chicago, which was Alinsky’s Petri dish.

While studying at Wellesley College, Hillary Clinton wrote her senior thesis on Saul Alinsky. We have seen enumerable quotes from “Rules for Radicals” that illustrate that the modern day leftist, led by Obama, pretty much stuck to Alinsky’s play book and thus won power to do just what the primer said they could do: “Change the nation to reflect their ideology.”

“Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.” John 8:44

Everyone who comments on Alinsky (and his political offspring) seem to focus on the mechanisms he suggests, which is useful in understanding how we got here, but not why. For the "why", you needn’t read further than the prologue to “Rules for Radicals”. The prologue reveals the antigen, the toxin that is introduced into otherwise healthy minds, causing disorderly thinking and leftist sensibilities.

Alinsky states on the first page of his prologue that he and a few others were survivors of the “McCarthy holocaust” (I am always amazed at leftists vilifying Joseph McCarthy for being absolutely right). This is worth noting, in so much as it bolsters the fact that today’s most powerful leftist liberals are ideologically linked directly to Alinsky socialists.

Alinsky goes on to declare:

“Men have always yearned for and sought direction by setting up religions, inventing political philosophies, creating scientific systems like Newton’s, or formulating ideologies of various kinds.”

This sort of thinking is indicative of someone who does not understand that man is incapable of creating anything ex nihilo without a frame of reference. Man can be inspired to create false religions, but man is completely incapable of creating a God concept without God having first revealed Himself to man.

If God did in fact reveal Himself, as evidenced by the existence of the very idea of God, it is logical that He did so in a particular way. It also follows that if God, in fact, revealed that there is an enemy of mankind with a vested interest in keeping human beings from understanding God as He revealed Himself, it is logical there would be many false religions.

Alinsky further exhibits undisciplined thinking, and/or overall lack of understanding, by suggesting that Newton created the eponymous scientific laws he is credited with as opposed to simply discovering the realities of how the universe works.

These next thoughts reveal why he thought irrationally.

“Despite the realization that all values and factors are fluid, and changing, and that it will be possible to ‘get it all together’ only relatively.”

Relativism is the lynchpin that holds leftist “reality” together. To forward liberal thinking, it is fundamental to reject absolutes even as they pertain to the physical world as described by Newton. It is key for a liberal to reject objective reality. This is how the leftist is able to ignore the fact that socialism does not and has not ever worked wherever or whenever it has been tried; they can therefore continue to work towards transforming this nation into what they believe is the ideal even when the ideal has proven a dismal failure.

Alinsky reminds us:

“Remember we are talking about revolution, not revelation;”

Think about that statement and what it portends. Alinsky is saying that reality is irrelevant, especially as it pertains to Divine or supernatural disclosure to humans of something relating to human existence or the world. What matters is the “revolution.”  All that matters are man’s goals. Alinsky pays lip service when claiming to love America, as do the liberals who seek to change it.

What the left fails to realize, or at the very least are loathe to admit, is that they hate this country. You can’t love a country that was established by men who felt the revelation and the Revelator were more important than the revolution, but rather so important, that they cultivated the fruit of the rebellion to reflect the laws of that Divine revelation.

Alinsky says:

“As an organizer I start from where the world is, as it is, not as I would like it to be. That we accept the world as it is does not in any sense weaken our desire to change it into what we believe it should be.”

This reminds me of another organizer:

“How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning. How art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:” Isaiah 14:12, 13

Lucifer desires to change reality into what he believes it should be as well. Lucifer is the original self help guru, spouting affirmations about where he will put his throne and where he will sit. Satan knows he didn’t create the stars or the mount, yet since the beginning of time, he soldiers on.

I could write a book on the wrongheaded meanderings contained in just the prologue of Alinsky’s book and perhaps one day I will.

Mr. Alinsky closes the prologue of “Rules for Radicals” with a chilling proclamation:

“There can be no darker or more devastating tragedy than the death of man’s faith in himself and in his power to direct his future.”

After reading that statement, a passage of Scripture came to mind:

“Son of man, say unto the prince of Tyrus, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thine heart is lifted up, and thou hast said, I am a God, I sit in the seat of God, in the midst of the seas; yet thou art a man, and not God, though thou set thine heart as the heart of God:” Ezekiel 28:2

One can place faith in men and governments as the Democrats would have you do, but don’t profess love for this country while doing it. Belief in man with the exclusion of God is not the ideology that birthed this great nation.

“We have staked the whole future of American civilization, not upon the power of government, far from it. We’ve staked the future of all our political institutions upon our capacity…to sustain ourselves according to the Ten Commandments of God.” - James Madison [1778 to the General Assembly of the State of Virginia]

“Rules for Radicals” opens with three quotes-one from a Rabbi Hillel, another from Thomas Paine (what other founder would a liberal radical quote), and one Alinsky penned himself:

“Lest we forget at least an over-the-shoulder acknowledgement to the very first radical: from all our legends, mythology, and history (and who is to know where mythology leaves off and history begins-or which is which), the first radical known to man who rebelled against the establishment and did it so effectively that he at least won his own kingdom-Lucifer”

If Alinsky and his followers seek to change a nation from a country founded upon the precepts of the very same establishment Lucifer rebelled against, it’s intrinsically obvious who Saul Alinsky and his sycophants are the bastard sons and daughters of, and therefore making it clear which source inspires the ideas the left “clings” too.

Adolf Hitler is the only guy liberals openly reject. Yet, Hitler played from the same play book as liberals, and his political ideas are pretty much identical to the ones the left espouses till this day. Hitler killed a lot of people, but so did Che, Fidel, Mao, and Stalin. In fact, Hitler had the exact same ideas as Hugo Chavez.

Hitler championed universal healthcare, abortion on demand, euthanasia, radical animal rights, and environmentalism. Hitler was definitely a proponent of big government running private industry. Heck, Adolf was even a vegan.

The Nazis weren’t big on gay rights, but that’s about the only thing that they don’t have in common with the modern Democrat agenda. Like the left’s hero Saul Alinsky and the enemy of our souls-Lucifer, Hitler was a great "little" organizer, too. Think about it!
